I am a middle aged man with a wonderful wife and a cat. We like to travel, the wife and I, not the cat. We live in an older house and do lots of work on it to make things just the way we want.
I like inventing things, or at least creating kludges that make life easier or more enjoyable. Necessity is a mother, as they say.
My wife and I enjoy the theatre and go to plays as often as we can, including on vacations. Local community theatre often has talent that rivals (sometimes surpasses) the Broadway shows. Musical theatre and comedies more so than dramas or straight plays, but most anything if the subject sounds good.
I also like photography. Nothing with people in it, mind you, but specialty photography such as time lapse, product photography, food photography, long exposure, light painting and the like. Anything that requires a setup or a controlled environment. My wife often comments that we are not in any of our vacation photos. A slight overstatement, but she has a point.
I am a fan of the writings of Douglas Adams (The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, Last Chance to See, etc.) and find meaning in his humor. Other authors I like are Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I have also been watching Doctor Who since I was a wee lad and am thrilled with the reboot of the series. Tom Baker was my Doctor, although not my first Doctor, but David Tennant was spectacular! One of our vacations took us to the 50th Anniversary event in London, it was amazing! We also watch Formula 1 and follow the Ignoble Awards.
